Choose Your Latex

After the long process of searching for a new suitable bed for yourself, you’ve come across the wonders of latex but also realized that there’s choices to be made. Two choices is what most places give you, mattresses made from the Dunlop method or the Talalay method. The differences between the two are pretty significant, and we at Filigree have added a third option that combines the benefits of both methods into one amazing bed.

The Dunlop method started back in the 1920’s and is the most frequently used option when it comes to latex beds. It’s a simple process that doesn’t use any chemicals and produces dense mattresses in different firmnesses that last a very long time. 20-30 years of structural integrity is the reason why people love them so much.

Talalay is a newer but similar method that adds a step of freezing the latex mixture before baking it, and sometimes uses other chemicals in the process. This method produces beds that don’t last as long as Dunlop but tend to be more elastic and body conforming than them. These are often used as toppers for a soft and very comfortable top layer.

Filigree the latest proprietary process that produces mattress that have the advantages of both the Dunlop and Talalay methods. Instead of pouring latex mixture into the mold and baking it, we inject the mixture into the mold in progressive pressures to create a triple dense core. This gives our beds a progressive compression property that gets firmer the more pressure is on it, so you only ever sink to where your body is most comfortable.

Filigree gives you a mattress with progressive density and firmness that combines a Talalay’s softness and supreme conformity with a Dunlop’s incredible longevity and support. Your sleep will never be better.
